get it right

I will use this app because I have been watching carbs a while now and I know what a lot of things are, but you NEED to get your amounts correct. Atkins especially !

Good app - getting close to 5-star

I find this app is very good and gives me all the features I need. It was easy to get started and as I add my foods to the database it gets easier and quicker to add meals! Syncing is a bit glitchy and does not work for me with the iPad version at all. Questions to support have gone unanswered. Would like some graphs if the data. But still a solid "4" for me as I use it many times a day!!

Functional but a little buggy

This app is nice since its free: lots of foods to choose from and nice graphic overview. This recent version hangs up on me when I search for a food that isnt found. The other buggy item is that if I misspell, it doesnt offer close alternatives, and since it hangs when finding no results, I have to quit that option and back out to start again.

Not great

This app isnt any better than the Atkins one and that one is free. Didnt think it was worth the cost.

Love it

Very helpful!!

Don’t bother with this app

I have the Fitbit, Health, and Lose It App on my phone. My doctor recommended this app. Hard to use, does not interface well with my other apps. I downloaded Diabetes Kit to go with the suite of other apps. They all talk to each other and share my data. Ease of use for this App compared to the Diabetes Kit is one star. I actually asked the maker of CarbsControl for my money back. Didn’t happen, so I am stuck with it. I plan on deleting it as it just takes up space. It is only $3.00 bucks but still there is no standing behind the product or a refund, either.

Bad usability

Perhaps its just because I design apps for a living, but the usability on this app is atrocious. Searching and adding to your food list should not be separated. Also, if you add something to the food log, you cant remove it! Come on guys! Users make mistakes and need to be able to recover from them.

Waste of $3

This app touted what a large database of food and restaurants that it has. I just wanted to add Michelob Ultra Beer Searched, "Item Not Found" Really? In a low carb app.

Dont bother

Very limited ap. several free apps are way more user friendly

Must have for sports families w/ diabetics

Good basic listing of carb counts for generic foods, and a long list of menu items from most American chain restaurants. When on the go with the kids, it is invaluable to know what the carb count is for food near the soccer/ hockey/ baseball tournament. Keep a copy on every phone.

Great App!

Great app to count carbs. Would recommend for any diabetic who is looking for simplicity in tracking meals.

Needs some real upgrades

I have to say I was really disappointed in this app, its not all that user friendly and pretty much a waist of money. If you are looking to track carbs there are much nicer apps out there that not only function better but also look a lot nicer. I never really rate the apps I buy but this time I felt it was needed seeing that for a paid app didnt deliver at all! Not worth keeping in my book!

Works well and doesnt crash

I tried another carb counter for a while and it crashes every three to four days, so I was apprehensive about trying a new one. Fortunately, this one works very well. It could use a larger list of foods but in general Im very pleased.

Horrible

Hate it! I want my money back! Freezes and is difficult to use.

Perfect for tracking carbs

Im a PWD and learning to track carbs with my food. This app is helping me to create my own library. I recommend this app to anybody who truly wants to succeed with his/her diet.

Great App....

I love this app. It would be so much better if there was a scanning option. Maybe a bigger data base as well. Still love this app.

Update: version 7.1

I keep getting asked to rate this so I will for the third time. I cant help but add how disappointed I am that such a potentially good app remains glitchy - glitchier, actually - and the developers do nothing about it. It seems most of the feedback is consistent yet to some real simple fixes are not being addressed. I also wish there was a way to back up all my entries. This app is very useful when I add my own foods in. However, every time theres an update, I lose all the data. Maybe carbs control should offer a web synch. I find a lot of the features of this app useful and as stated below, it seemed worth some of the chunkiness and glitches. Now its freezing all the time, in manual input mode you CAN enter protein but you cant see that you are because the screen covers the field, and now it just grays out when I go to add a food via the + button or if I try to adjust the serving/portion. Its basically not workable. I give it two stars out of hopefulness - please fix this app. ************* This app has been extremely helpful with tracking both calories and carbs and I expect to see good results at my next Dr visit! Some challenges: a little too brand heavy and not so healthy chains but there are a couple of good organic/healthy brands to go to. I do think that is an issue with most apps though so only a half star off for that. Also, there are a few cross-referencing issues with the brand search - perhaps those entered manually? - and word order is too fixed in the search function but after a week or so, you just start searching in alternative ways to find things. That could be fixed though. Pros: I love the home screen - everything number you need right there with a graphic of your carb/protein/fats at a glance.

Flawed

The export function does not work properly. It puts incorrect numbers in the carb fields. Also it would be helpful to see the total daily calories as well as the carbs on the daily page.

Was great, now not so much :(

I got this app a couple of years ago when it was free. Loved it. It was my go to app and I rated it 4 stars only because it was lacking a couple of things that most of us look for: -Password protect. -Scanner. -Broader food database (seems to be more Canadian based). They did update it when the iPhone 6 came out, but have never added the password protect nor the scanner which is such a huge plus. Other than that, there’s been no real updates. I even suggested it to my sister who wanted a simple, easy tracker and couldn’t believe it had gone to paid without having the major perks of the biggies (Lose it, My Fitness Pal). Very disappointed this once great app has been left behind.

So good so far

This is doing what I was looking for fairly easily. Definitely gets easier as you save more meals and favorite foods to your personal folder.
